pianist :: composer :: artistic director
Maria Aloupi began composing short works for piano, of a “classical and romantic style”, as early as 8 years old. Her overall activity in the field of music and more specifically her intense interest in analyzing musical pieces from multiple periods, led her to a more profound involvement with the art of composition. This was aided by the fact, that she had already been active as a piano performer and by her awareness of the evolution of 20th century music.

She has composed for solo, small ensembles, voices, electroacoustic media and music for visual art performances. Her compositions have been performed by Ensemble Aleph, Das Neue Ensemble, Nicholas Isherwood, Daniel Kientzy amongst others. As of lately, she composes original scores for video games, digital applications and television spots.
